4x Wheel balancing cost?

I appreciate the cost of balancing is already in the bloated tyre prices, I've been in twice and had free balancing done. No other work was done, and no bill was given. First time was because my car had developed a speed wobble at 60mph, the second time because during a CV joint swap, I accidentally knocked off a wheel weight :D

Well I've just come back from Formula 1. Had all four wheels balanced and the geometry done on their Hunter for £99. I love the before and after readouts, I think all four wheels were pointing in a different directions to begin with.

The only thing that soured the experience was that they tried to con me for a new set of tyres. They claimed that my rears were down to 1.6mm and the fronts were down to 3mm when I know that all four tyres are at about 4mm. :rolleyes:

I just told them I'd consider it and be in touch but now I'm actually quite angry about it.
