4yr old Sound Blaster 5.1 Live advice

I have a spare 5.1 sound blaster live pci card and was wondering till i have some spare dough for a fatality kit, if it would be wise to install my old sound card in my new pc (as in spec) at present i use the on board sound. Just curious as to what you guys think ??

The sound quality should be marginally better, although onboard sound cards are much better than they used to be. Are you using a digital or analog connection to your speakers?

I'd stick the SB Live in there. It will sound a bit better and you'll take a small amount of load off the CPU as well.
