Ive currently gota set of logitech Z5400's, but ive been sitting thinking, i just got a xfi sound card and i cant get the the speaker fill to work for mp3's 
but while ive been without the rear speaker ive been thinking, do i really need them? im not a movie enthusiast, i never notice or pay attention to 5.1 in games and my rented room next year is gonna be small so i wont get the best placement for them either! so! how much would i be looking to get a nice set of speakers plus and amp im guessing to play music and games? i know nothing about amps quality or prices :s oh and would it be better? thanks
oh and i dont care about size, can be floor standing or bookshelf

i finish uni in a week then im gonna work extra hours to fund it lol so maybe £250 - £450 maybe ive read the sticky in the hi fi section for a bit of background knowledge! i see the type of music plays quite a big part in choice of components. I listen to a lot of rock and electro rocky stuff, gary numans new stuff for instance, so i want a bit of base
