Heya,
Received my Z-5500s today and hooked them up nicely to my x-fi Xtrememusic (using latest Creative drivers and the Youp-Pax 2007 suite).
Upmixing from mp3's etc is absolutely fine, all 5 speakers get used
However, when it comes to watching a DVD movie with 5.1 DD sound, I hear only background music and sound effects - none of the dialogue is audible on any speaker. This is rubbish!
What on Earth is going on here? Is it a Vista/Creative issue?
Also, in the THX control panel that comes with the suite, only the front left and right speakers work whilst being tested - the others are totally silent?
Again, is this normal for Vista?
I'm half-tempted to RMA the z-5500s anyway. They blew their internal fuse the moment I plugged them in today - I had to nip out and buy another....which then blew again. Common problem apparently with some batches of Z-5500s.
