5.1 Optical Out

Hi Guys

Im struggling to find a 5.1 Sound Card that delivers 5.1 on the optical out (most only seem to do stero on the optical out). Any suggestions ?

Yes, if you have to have surround sound via optical, then this is what you're after.

Most soundcards with digital out should pass Dolby Digital and DTS. No problems here with a M-Audio Revo 5.1. Just check specs of the outputs.

Any soundcard with S/PDIF out will give you 5.1 in dvd movies and other pre-encoded sources but stereo in realtime stuff (e.g. music, games)
