Hi, what does everybody think is better for gaming - 5.1 surround or EAX?
Currently I have my computer running though my home theatre speakers - problem is that the only multichannel input is dolby digital over the SPDIF connection.
As far as I can see there are three options:
1: EAX with stereo - use my audigy, but only get stereo in games
2: 5.1 Surround - use kx drivers to get dolby encoded surround in games (but no EAX support)
3: Get a Dolby Digital Live soundcard which supports both
I've been aiming for number 3, but so far haven't found a Dolby Digital Live soundcard in stock anywhere for sensible money, so I'm trying to decide which is the best fallback option until I find one.
Thanks
Rhys
