Don't know if anyone can help but worth a shot.
I've recently got hold of a Goodmans GHC57FMPro amplifier and 5.1 speaker kit (i wanted a cheapish one that i could plug 3 devices into i.e. dvd, video & telly). The system works fine and i've checked all speakers and connections and they appear to be OK.
So what's the problem?
Delay. There is a delay between the speakers and the picture. Basically if i have TV sound on as well as the 5.1 speakers the sound from the TV is ahead of the speakers which at first isn't noticeable but eventually means a that lip synch becomes a bit off. There are delay adjustments for the centre and rear speakers but this actually increases the delay rather than decreases it - setting it to 'off' still results in a delay.
I've moved speakers away from the TV and put the rear surround behind my seat but i think i'd need a footy stadium for it to make any difference (my living room is quite small).
For info the vcr is connected to the amp using normal red/white jacks, the dvd via coax digital audio cable. I've tried dvd connection using normal jacks but still resluts in the delay effect. I've also made sure that the EQ settings are normal and that dynamic setting is off.
I bought this from Argos less than a week ago and it doesn't appear in the new catalogue so is it worth taking it back because in theory it works and the miserable so and so's probably wouldn't give me a refund. I'm really frustrated as i won't surround sound but don't won't it to sound like i'm sat in a cave!
Any suggestions welcome!
