5.1 screwed up

I have a 5.1 speaker set-up but my computer is having non of it. I moved my PC around today and sound is only coming out of Rear L, Front L, Center and Sub.

I have tried erverything in the sound options to get all speakers to work but there not :confused:

I am using a Belkin phono lead to connect my AMP to PC. It was all working before, even tried system restore but still no luck.

Anyone? :confused:

Edit: It ALSO does this with my 5.1 headset. Sound only comes out of the left ear.

do you mean a single phono cable? or multiple?

Single.

It has red & white that connects to the AMP and then the single on its own that plugs into the back of the PC.

you would never get true 5.1 from that, your amp probly just pushes stereo out to all speakers.

with your headset, are you plugging it directly into the pc sound card jacks or is it usb?

seems like you got a setting somewhere with right speaker turned off

I got 5.1 from it before (AMP has an option), sound came out of all speakers & amp.

Ill have another look in the sound options

You got 6 seperate singles down a lead that only carries 2? I think you're telling porkies or performed a miracle.

Okay, i cannot explain anymore lol.

I took some pictures to show you what i mean. (warning large pics)

Heres the AMP set to 5.1 -

In the back of the AMP, red & white to CD.

In the back of my PC (Green)

I got 5.1 before i moved my PC around, i know i did because all the sound came out of all speakers!

Hope tihs clears things up

thats not 5.1
thats upmixing stereo to come out of 5.1 speakers, It sounds to me like either youve got a dodgy cable/connector (if you swap them over does it only come out of right speakers) or youve got your balance settings screwed up.

Yet but i get 5.1 coming from my iPod?

You need either 3 leads....... 1 does front speakers, another does rear speakers and the third does sub and centre.

Or connect it digitally

Your amp is actually telling you it's playing a stereo source by the looks of the two speak icons on the right, below the volume.

Ive just tried some normal left and right headphones and sound is only coming out of the right and i can only hear a slight sound in the left

Has my on-board sound gone?

Sounds as if the balance is off somewhere. Checked all the settings in the amp and windows for the left/right balance? It's unlikely you would get any sound in the left if it was broken.
