5.1 Sound, iTunes and Games

I have 5.1 sound.

I works fine in games.

But in iTunes, only the sub and the two rear speakers work.

I'm using a Soltek Qbic EQ3801a (I think it's definitely nForce3) which uses onboard C-Media Audio.

Anyone know if I'm doing something wrong?

That's strange that the rear speakers are working but not the front with itunes. Are you sure you don't have front and rear mixed up? Check your drivers for options like swap front and rear speakers or something.

It is normal that only the front and sub work with something like itunes since it only gives a stereo output. To use all of the speakers the signal needs to be upmixed which may be an option in your audio drivers or it there may be a plugin for itunes like there is for winamp.
