Installed Realtek software and drivers - latest update

Tested sound in realtek hd audio manager - speakers worked correctly on test in application. Then tested with movie and rear sounds come out the front speakers, front sounds still come out the front to.

Removed all drivers, removed HD audio manager. Reinstalled drivers manually, still same.

So reinstalled from latest update again, now realtek HD audio manager won't install.

Tried configuring the speakers again with the windows manager. They still all play out of the correct speakers when on test but don't in anything else. Still Rears come out the front.

So an ideas how to reinstall the Realtek Audio HD Manager. Watched a few videos on the web and they bang on about the drivers but don't really help with the audio manager.

And any help for the actual problem, if I can fix it I don't care about the manager.

Worked fine in my last comp, with Realtek onboard sound.

Have you set Windows playback setting configuration to 5.1?
(and make sure playback software uses that)
Otherwise rear channel sound could get mixed into front channels.

If you mean in Control Panel / Speakers then yes they are set up as 5.1 speakers and the test of all speakers works fine.

Playback for rears still comes out of front ones even though it passes as working for rears in test.

I don't have Realtek HD audio software installed and am managing it in Windows as it won't install from the driver package.

All drivers are installed correctly though and working properly.

Sounds like Realtek is fine and your video player is downmixing 5.1 to stereo. I'd look in the players audio settings.
