5.1 sound

hi i,ve bought a dvd/recorder and want to get a home cinema sound system to compliment it.could people advise me what i need?it has optical and co-axial outputs.recommendations greatly received thanks

ok thanks for reply matblack,firstly room is quite small ie around 16ftx13ft,music not necessay as i have a midi system,budget is reasonably open.i had an lg home cinema system before,you know the dvd type.but now i,ve bought the dvdr i would like a similar sound.i realise you can buy a stand alone home cinema sound system,maybe this is adequate but i,ve seen threads where these dont get good ratings.thought maybe a motr amplifier and seperate speakers/sub would suit my needs.so any ideas along that line and where to look/buy would be great.ps if people think the integrated type are ok let me know.thanks all

ok popped into my local sony centre and they had these 2 systems available
sony ht-ddw670 and sony ht-ss600 any thoughts?
ps the room size this is meant for is approx 16x13 feet main use 2x dvd players.thanks
