thinking of getting 5.1 speakers set up , can you advise me on the average cable length of the rear speakers as I had trouble with short cables on an older set up i had.

room is roughly 4m * 4m

seen some wireless 5.1 speakers the Logitech® Z-5450 but as i live in old house the power sockets are VERY limited so thats out of the question due to the fact that the speakers need to powered to mains :(

Hi,

My Logitech Z680 's came with ;

2 x 6' cables
3 x 15' cables

This was barely enough to surround my desk.

So to do a room , would budget for extra cabling ( it's cheap enough )

Remember speaker cable length starts from subwoofer , not the PC , so work out where the subs going before measuring.

Cheers,

Mark

It varies from speaker to speaker.

The Creatives I had before (6.1 6700) the speaker wire was attached to the speakers , so yes you would have to join cables ( or take speaker units apart and solder new lengths to them)

My Logitech Z680's have external attachments on both speaker units and sub. so you can cut the cable to suit and use one length.

Hope this makes sense.

Cheers,

Mark
