Hey there,

I've been having a problem with my Logitech X-540 speakers, although saying that its not really a problem with just those speakers. I had the logitech Z-640 speakers before this (both 5.1) and on my computer I'm not able to get either to run all speakers. I've got a Creative Sound blaster live! 24-bit external sound card, which is capable of supporting 5.1 speakers and my motherboard (Abit AW9D-MAX) came with its own sound card SoundMax which also supports 5.1 speakers and I have this problem with both.

I've had my old speakers, the Logitech Z-640 working on my external sound card before, although I don't use the speakers often as I use a headset so I can't tell when this fire happened. I've tried uninstalling the drivers and running driver cleaner and installing them again or installing other drivers I've found for it. I'm also running Vista home premium 64 bit but also have this problem on XP Home 32 bit.

If the back two aren't working and the front two are working I've found that switching the cables on the back of the sound cards then the back two will work and the front two won't. same goes for switching cables on the back of the subwoofer.

Although I have this problem with both my new and old speakers, with my old ones the central speaker, subwoofer and front two speakers would work but the back ones wouldn't. But with my new ones only the front two speakers and the subwoofer will work and the central one doesn't.

Sorry for the long winded post, if anyone manages to get through that then I'd appreciate any help :D
