Hey there.
I just installed a new sound card:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...ied 7.1 Sound Card - OEM (PCI) (30SB077200000)

The 5.1 speakers im using were kept in the loft for a long time.
a. we didn't have the green/orange/black cables that go intothe soundcard, also, there doesn't seem to be a slot for those on the woofer itself... So we had to use the Optical cable.
I use the test button on the speaker set itself, and each speaker plays a fuzzy sound. It just seems to be the Computer that's not recognising the cable... or something :S

Thanks in advance,
Combusted.

The only sockets on the back of the woofer are...
L Aux
R Aux
Coaxial
Optical
(We're using the optical cable)
How come there are no green/black/orange like on normal subs, which my other computer has.
We have a group of 3 cables, which are red yellow and white... but the other end of them don't fit intothe sound card sockets.
Hope this clears some things up.

ok, I got the speakers playing sound, except when i go to test channel assignment in the X-Fi Creative control panel, the front left speaker is playing surround left, and the front right is playing surround right... No sound is actually coming out of the rear speakers.
