5.25" bay fan intake convertor

Hey everyone,

I'm still running a Corsair 800d but I'm quite attached to it. However, I would like to swap out some of the 5.25" optical bays for an air intake.

Does anyone know of any available adaptors/converters?

Only thing I can find from a search is this https://www.overclockers.co.uk/lian-li-bz-502a-front-cooling-kit-silver-ca-463-ll.html which is out of stock everywhere...

Have our tried just fitting a fan in with pieces of foam to wedge it in place and / or use a couple pull-ties to hold it? Have done this several times with good results. Usually the hardest part of fitting fan in 5.25" bays is grill for looks.

I usually use Silverstone SST-FF143B, but they are out of stock at the moment.

Yeah, did consider that with come meshed 5.25 covers but they were just as hard to find as the adaptor. That etsy 3d printed mount looks best, combine with a mesh dust shield from ebay and it'll be spot on...

Should work well. If you can, please post up some pics of it when installed.

I've had good luck converting 5.25" bays into intake with fan. They line up nicely with CPU coolers. Not perfect, but better than other front venting.
