5 beeps

hi, my bro's pc has been fine up untill now.

asus a8n-e
xp
2 x 512mb ram
800gt pci-e

so when you turn it on you get 5 beeps, beep beep pause beep beep beep . and wont load to screen, fans all goin etc.

so far i have removed each ram stick, moved slots and tested, still beeps. reseated vid card and tested, still beeps.

what you rekon?

Have you checked the manufacturers website/manual for beep codes?

Odd question - are you sure it's 5 beeps? Not like 3 beeps followed by 2 beeps lol?

Maybe it's telling you the beeper is broken

well its either 1 long beep followed by 3 quick beeps or im pretty sure its this " tow beeps pause three beeps.

with the non display would you think its graphics card or pci e slot?

Tried the sticks of RAM individually?

Tried resetting the CMOS?

What's the graphics card? There's a typo in your original post.

yer, tried ram individually, reset cmos and gcard is x800gt
