5*** CF With 4870x2 ?

Just wondered will the two series cards be compatable for crossfire?

ATIs compatability chart hasnt been updated for the 5 series cards

Tbh i couldnt say but theres a possibility as there similiar chips, although your 5870 would run at a 4870 speed, so is there any point?

its a 4870x2, which appears to be on a par with the 5870, so yes

No but it has less performance per card.
Therefore the 5870, will run at the same speed as a 4870.

Assuming you're looking for a speed upgrade, I'd wait and see how much the 5870X2 is going to cost and then sell on the 4870X2 - pretty sure you could get £100 - £150 for it and use that towards the the newer card.
