So, good bad or the same.

For my beloved United I'm sure it will be a godsend because most of our players can only play about 40 minutes before they are dead on their feet but perhaps other teams aren't so poorly conditioned.

All jokes aside, this has to give the big clubs a reasonably big advantage vs the smaller ones. The likes of City can change half their squad i.e probably their entire forward line and most of their midfield to absolutely batter a smaller side that is valiantly holding them off.

Basically I'm not convinced its a good idea. I understand the rationale behind it but I think that most clubs will just use it to give them a competitive advantage rather than to rest players a bit more during what is an ever increasing game load.

The likes of United can do the same, it's not Citys fault that United couldn't build a team to save their lives despite the investment. If this was 1999 I bet you wouldn't be saying that. You know, now you can bring through all that terrific youth talent we kept hearing about, that hasn't delivered since 1999 :p

It's a good idea if it stops the top 4 whinging about being a little tired while having a 350m wage bill.

Huh, every team in the league can do it... its just going to benefit the big team more and the likes of City the most. Liverpool are running City close this season but City will get a bigger boost from it than Liverpool because they have a much better squad outside the first XI.

Is this true anymore?

Its probably not quite the gulf I suggested but I would say that City still have more game changers in their "2nd XI" than Liverpool. Perhaps Liverpool have more variety to change it up though. Still seems a bit rotten on the smaller teams in the league in my opinion.

If you don't want it to be rotten on the smaller teams let's have a wage and opening cap. Otherwise it doesn't really matter if you have 3 or 11 subs. The top 4-6 have always been protected to some extent. Man City with 3 subs in the same result against Norwich with 5 subs. The only difference is the players might not be subjected to as much toll on the body (if you even believe this is an issue for injuries).

Only fair way is to link the number of subs you get to squad quality. City and Liverpool get 1. Chelsea get 2 and United get 7.
