5+ Year Old Monitor Replacements?

I'm currently using an LG Flatron E2240 from around 5 to 6 years ago and it's beginning to die/fail at rendering the blue/white end of the spectrum in certain situations.

A close look at certain shades will reveal what looks like the pixels discoing between R/G/B

My system's getting on a bit in general and I'm looking to the future - I'd like to replace the monitor with an eye to following it up with a new graphics card too. However I'm more or less completely out of the loop when it comes to monitors and I'm not really sure which direction to go in.

My current card is a GeForce 650 GTX Ti with an eye to upgrade to a shinier, newer GeForce sometime in 2016.

My budget runs to about £275, maybe £300 at a push; and I've been looking at 24" and upwards - budget permitting.

Thanks, sorry for the late reply; real life is a pest.

I notice that monitor uses Displayport - and I'm not 100% sure if my case has a slot for that cabling - haven't had the time to lug the beast around to see all the ports.
Am I likely to incur any major loss of performance using Displayport to DVI adaptor - which I am certain I have.

Not 100% but I don't think the GTX 6xx series runs G-Sync so I'd just double check that. I agree though that for your budget a 1080p G-Sync 144hz would be excellent for your needs.

We don't know what his needs are though

Unless I've missed something it says nothing about how he uses his computer in the OP?

For £300 he may well be better off getting a 1440P IPS,VA monitor depending on what exactly he uses his computer for.
