Hello,

I built my PC in 2015 from the advice from this forum and it has worked extremely well since. I only do gaming on it. The specs are:

KFA2 GeForce GTX 980ti HoF 8 Pack Approved edition 6144MB GDDR5
Gigabyte X99-SLI
Intel Core I7 5820k
Corsair Hydro H115i CPU Cooler
XFX XTR 850W '80 Plus Gold' FUlly Modular PSU
Fractal Design R5 Midi Tower Case
Samsung 250 GB 850 Evo SSD
Seagate Baracuda 2 TB 7200RMP 6 GBs
16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 2400MHz DDR4 RAM
Samsung G7 27 inch 1440p monitor.

Unfortunately, with the release of Cyberpunk and the upgrade from 1080p to 1440p on my monitor it has become apparent that my PC is beginning to struggle. I dont have the time to do a full upgrade currently and I think the only thing holding my system back is the GPU. My plan would be to slot a 30xx series GPU in to keep my PC up to speed on the latest games and then upgrade the SSD/HDD/CPU/MOBO in due course when I have more time. I would likely need to do the CPU/MOBO next as the MOBO ethernet port is damaged (one of the pins in the port bent) but I have fixed the issue but I guess it will eventually stop working. I would most likely look at a 3080ti (when it releases) I presume my system could handle it due to the 3090 requiring a 750w PSU. I am also worried that I might hit a bottleneck if I just upgrade the GPU, is this worry unfounded?

If anyone could possibly check my plan over and say if it is workable I would be very appreciative or if anyone has better advice please let me know - im open to suggestion.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Happy Christmas as well ;)
