Okay currently in my upgrade/system i am looking at :

cpu = i7 2600k OC'd @ 4.6ghz
ram = 8gb ~ 1800 mhz
Motherboard = msi z68 b3 motherboard (spacing on motherboard is what i prefer on this)
gfx card = 5870 CF (xfx 5870 xxx + xfx 5870)
Sound card = asus xonar d2
Psu = tagan 1100W psu (oldish type psu, doesnt contain any 8 pins)
Case= fractal design define xl black peral
Ssd= ocz agility 3 (sata 3 reads/writes approx 500 mb/s
Hdd= samsung spinpoint f3 1tb
Seagate 300gb 5600rpm ?
(External) 1.5 tb
Optical drive = run of the mill dvd drive

I will be goin to uni for at least the next 5 yrs and probs wont be able to afford any upgrades what i was wonderin is how this setup would do me for the next 5 yrs gaming @1920x1080 @ max settings @noAA @x16/x8 AF
 
You don't get much/any benefit over 1600mhz RAM

Single 570 instead of 5870 CF to save yourself driver hassle

Antec/Corsair 750W PSU because quality is more important than number of watts
 
You should probably make clear what you already have (If anything) and what you are planning to upgrade. Will make it easier for people to advise
 
Looks fine. I'd be tempted to save a bit (as your only gaming at 1920x1080) and go for i5 2500K, 4GB RAM (1600MHz), 750-850W (decent) PSU and use your single XFX 5870. At your resolution there aren't many games that will struggle with this setup. In a year or so then yet yourself another 5870 if you feel the need to.

As your a student funds will soon deplete especially after freshers week!
