50-55" TV for sub £500?

Hi all,

My housemates and I are thinking of getting a new TV for the apartment and we're wondering if you could suggest some models for our limited budget.

We sit around 7ft/2.5m away from the TV so not sure whether 4K is worth it, currently don't have any devices that could output 4k so might just be better with 1080p.

Would the Samsung UE50J6240 be the best option at £430?

Or even the Hisense 50M3300 at £400 for a 4K experience?

I'd say to stick with 1080p, as the scalers in cheaper 4k sets aren't usually very good so 1080p/720p content will not look as good on a 4k tvs as it would on a tv with those resolutions being native

Any recommendations or are they all much of a muchness?
