My old Steelseries Rival (62278) is on the way out (sometimes misses a left click, unless I press down harder than normal), so I done some research and a lot of people recommend the Endgame Gear OP1/XM2 for claw/palm, so I bought a B grade XM2 from OcUK, and I really like the lightness and accuracy of the mouse, however it's doesn't sit quite right in my hand.

I'm hybrid palm/claw but I find the XM2 too claw-y. The Steelseries has a larger hump which fills my hand better meaning I'm not gripping as much with my fingers, and more comfortable (I only play League of Legends mostly and nothing competitive). I find the sides of the XM2 taper down too much so it feels like quite a small mouse, but also found that on the Rival it has a wider rightside, so my pinky sits quite nice further out rather than gripping in, if that makes sense?

I had a look at current rival models, but I'm not sure if they're the same shape from the pictures? Looking to spend up to £50, but if something's good for around £30 I'll take it. I don't like hole-ly mice, and white mouse preferred. Is the Deathadder a similar shape? Can get the essential for under £20! I have a mouse cord bungee so wired preferred. I do want a lighter mouse than the Rival though as I think it's 128g and the XM2 is 52g, so I guess <80g would be good.

At that price I think the Deathadder essential is a good shout. It looks like it’s a hell of a lot easier to palm than the XM2 is, and it comes in your preferred colour. Could also look at a basilisk essential, however both of these are around 95 grams which is above the 80 you’d prefer. If you want something that fulfils all of your criteria (except the colour) you can get a pulsar Xlite wired for about £50.Quite a bit pricier but easy to palm and the same 52g as the xm2. A new mouse is always a tough decision.

Yeah, the price is hard to look past, especially as it's just for casual gameplay. The 80g I stated is a number very much plucked out of the air, as it's somewhat in the middle of the XM2 and my old mouse
The Xlite wired, is it the v3 medium version you mean? As that's coming up as £50 in the white colour. I could get both and send one back, or just keep it for years down the line when I need a new one aha.

Edit: The Deathadder by dimensions is larger, so I'm just going to go for that one, and it's £30 cheaper. I'll let you know how it feels when I receive it, thanks for the recommendations though!

Nothing I can think of is of such Size or Shape as the old Rival 300.

I would suggest going with a Large (By Todays Standards) Ergo and just getting used to the Shape.

Deathadder Essential in White via Rainforest for £19 - 96Gram, Lighter but still Heavy ish but inexpensive and ticks a lot of your boxes.

Glorious Model D Pro (60Grams) at £49 is a cheaper alternative to Xlite V3/4 - Large, Wireless Ergo EC Series Clone.

Try Elo Shapes to compare Sizes, Weights and Shapes to narrow down something which will be suitable.

That's a great website thanks, I'll remember that for future use! Actually confirms that the Deathadder Essential isn't TOO far off compared to the Rival, and can see how much smaller the XM2 is!
I don't like the look of the mice with all the holes, so I'm avoiding those.

How are you getting on with the Deathadder?

I got the medium Xlite V3 wired the other day and it is such a good mouse.

Looking on Elo Shapes they are very similar in shape but at 52g is much lighter, it is open frame on the bottom though.

Managed to pick up a Glorious mouse bungee for £5

Thanks freddie. I didn't know pulsar did wired so looking into them myself.

The more I think about it I still think wired mice are just better. Maybe it's just me but I feel like at times these wireless mice just lose it for a split second, likely when the mouse looks for another wireless channel.

I was eyeing up endgame gear wired mice but after the less than good response to their op1w v2 software being infected with malware I'm looking at other mice. I would look at Razer but I really don't want to install all this bloatware to configure a mouse.

Wireless has never interested me.

For some reason this mouse has a detachable cable that i assume is because it is the same as the wireless version but without the battery.

The software seems pretty basic, but enabled me to set Minimum DPI to what i wanted and alter the side led to the colour i preferred and turn the brightness down.

Yeah that would be ideal for me. I didn't like Logitech due to how bloated G Hub is but atleast they include a separate program called Onboard Memory Manager to do basic mouse setting changes. I guess Pulsar is similar and heard good things.

I did quite like the shape of the Logitech G403 which apparently Pulsar made a clone of it called the X3. Can't find that wired though. :(
