hey guys

here's the deal, i've never had a high spec up to date gaming pc and have decided to treat myself to one.

i would like it to be relatively up to date with the latest hardware whats available and would like to future proof it for as long as possible so i haven't got
to worry about it.

main uses obviously for heavy gaming (bfbc 2 at highest settings possible, also would like to run silent hunter 5). my fiancée would also like to use some music software on there for her music course.

now budget wise if all goes to plan i should have around a grand to burn on this rig but if not i should still have £500 either way so would like to get the best value for money.

one last point is im not looking to build this myself, even though its something id like to be able to do in the future i currently have no experience in that area yet.

sorry for being so fussy about what im after and was wondering if you good people could put a couple of potential rigs together for that budget

cheers guys for your help :D

Well if you dont want to build your own:

All have options to choose what graphics card you want

Building one is really easy though mate and i would recommend it but if you insist on it pre built then you wont go wrong with any of the above three

wow thanks for the prompt response

i would love to build my own and would do it myself. I don't think starting with a rig this expensive though is a good idea :D

with those rigs above, what upgrades would you suggest to get the most out of it

reading an article on bad company 2 last apparently some of the graphics cards stated there really struggled with the game on the higher settings

also whats the benefits with a quad core rather than a dual processor (sorry for the noob question, dont know a great deal with hardware)

I would go with the 5850 if you can afford it as it can run everything if not then get the 5770 which is still an awesome card.
And basically a quad can run programs etc quicker than dual cores because its got 4 cores instead of 2 cores....in games however you wont notice the difference but photoshop,AutoCAD etc all run quicker on quad cores.

people get scared by the thought of building a rig, but its relatively simple and theres enough guides and support on these forums to help you through it. plus you get the satisfaction of knowing youve built it yourself :)

id have a shot at pricing you up a system, but uve gota understand theres a huge difference between 500-1k. i think when your for sure what exact budget uve got to play with to repost and get the community to help you then.

This should be quite a solid pc, i got the speakers they are very loud and great:

well do you need a montior, keyboard, mouse, speakers, an operating system, and monitor in that price? because if so it will be a struggle to build a heavy gaming rig with the rest of the budget, rubbish i know :(

CAT-THE-FIFTH

thats a good point there, in that case ill be back :D but ill be nosing around the forums and keep an eye on whats on the site, im also gonna try and familarize myself with whats good and whats not part wise as well since thats something im a little weak on :P

yeah and in the mean time try and scrape as much as you can together cause even an extra £200+ would go a very long way. because for a decent gaming rig you wana be going down ideally the i5 route with a 5000 series ati or the new nvidia 400 series cards :)

This is what you will probably be able to get for around £650:

Athlon II X4 630 ~ £84

760G AM3 motherboard ~ £63

4GB DDR3 ~ £90

HD4850 1GB ~ £90

OCZ 400W PSU ~ £33

Case ~ £30

Samsung F3 500GB ~ £43

SATA DVD rewriter ~ £15

Windows 7 Retail ~ £90

Iiyama ProLite E2008HDS 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor ~ £105

ok, set budget is 900 and i dont need a monitor since im gonna play on a 26" tv

but i would like a gaming mouse and mat and maybe a new 2.1 sound system
