I will keep my keyboard and mouse, monitors and operating system.

I need everything else,

No price checks outside the MM.

We can't give price checks outside the MM (Members Market) for the cpu and graphics.

But give me a moment I do a quick spec.

Edit: see my edit below the spec.

Thanks for the reply. Is there an Intel option that can fit within the budget?

If you get a cheaper case and PSU and no aftermarket cooler, something like this:

YOUR BASKET
1 x MSI Radeon R9 280 Gaming 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £155.99
1 x Intel Core i5-4590 3.30GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £155.99
1 x SK Hynix 256GB SSD SH910A SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Drive (HFS256G32MNB-2201A) £84.98
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLRED38G2400HC11CDC01) £65.99
1 x Gigabyte Z97P-D3 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £61.99
1 x EVGA 500W 80 Plus Bronze Power Supply (100-B1-0500-KR) £43.99
1 x Xigmatek Mach Midi-Tower Black £19.99
Total : £598.52 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Just as an alternative - 250GB SSD to begin with/add mech drive for more storage later.

What do you guys think about this build - trying to bring the cost down.

**B Grade** Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 AMD 970 (Socket AM3+) DDR3 (MB-597-AS)
AMD Piledriver FX-8 Eight Core 8320 Black Edition 3.50GHz (Socket AM3+) Processor - Retail
TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLRED38G2400HC11CDC01)
**B Grade** MSI Radeon R9 280X Gaming Edition OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express G (GX-225-MS)
Crucial MX100 256GB SATA 2.5” 7mm SSD + 9.5mm Adapter (CT256MX100SSD1)
BitFenix Comrade Midi-Tower - Black
EVGA 600W 80 Plus Bronze Power Supply (100-B1-0600-KR)

I would use my existing CPU cooler
Akasa AK-CCX-4001HP Nero S Direct Contact Heatpipe CPU Cooler

iirc the M5A97 LE has no VRM cooling, so most likely will throttle the high watt 8320

How about this?

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-4690K 3.50GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor - OEM £185.99
1 x **B Grade** Gigabyte Radeon R9 280X Rev2.0 WindForce 3X OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with Battlefie (GX-122-GI) £109.99
1 x SK Hynix 256GB SSD SH910A SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Drive (HFS256G32MNB-2201A) £84.98
1 x Gigabyte Z97P-D3 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £61.99
1 x Antec TruePower Classic 550w '80 Plus Gold' Power Supply £55.99
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLRED38G2400HC11CDC01) £53.99
1 x Raijintek Agos Midi Tower - Black £39.95
Total : £602.48 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Better Seasonic OEM and 5 year warranty PSU too as well as an Intel CPU/board which for single threaded stuff should be faster - also an arguably better case
You can then overclock the 4690k with your cooler assuming you have the 1155/1156/1150 socket mounting as this 280X is a bit cheaper than the MSI b-grade one

EDIT: Fail, didn't notice you trying to bring the cost down - sorry!

Well the B-Grade Gigabyte 280X is still a good shout, as that will help him do so.

And the EVGA 600B, while a good option for a Bronze unit, is too close in price right now to better options like the Antec and SuperFlower 550 Golds, yes.

I would personally try and get onto the Z97 platform as well, even if it costs a bit more than that AMD spec. You'd want a better motherboard than the one you picked out for an 8 core anyway, Zulu.

Comes out to what a better motherboard would add on for the AMD spec, I think, mostly due to the cheaper 280X. And you have better CPU upgrade options. Performance off the bat should be slightly superior in general, too.

The Neos case has slightly better front intake (but still only one rear fan).
