Hi guys & girls.

Was wondering what would be a recommended PSU of good quality between 500-600W and around £40-£65 (inc. VAT of course ^^)

My budget for PSU goes higher, but i'd like to see what I can get for cheaper because if it gets to £70+ then I'll just buy please don't llink to other shops for a healthy £88 as I know Enermax are a good quality PSU. But saving money is the win :)

I know a lot of you say that the Corsair VX400w is a sturdy, efficient PSU, but I personally would like to have 500w+ and quality. I am aware that the price range I am giving does not leave much room for quality as such, but I'd really like to hear your views/recommendations on what ones really stick out, OR which companies have a good reputation for high quality PSU's.
I also noticed that OCZ StealthXstream 500w and 600w has 80+ silvers? Are they any good?

My build is a mish-mash of ****, so no point asking about spec as it's not a wonderful computer. =P

Look forward to hearing some suggestions.

Adam

That's my bad for the external link. I appologise.

Thank's for the quick replies!!

Again, with regards to the OCZ, is it of a good quality? If it is, then great, I've bagged a 500w PSU for £57... but I have absolutely no idea what the OCZ brand is like. ALSO, is the StealthXstream worth looking at?

At the moment, the XFX is catching my eye... followed closely by the OCZ and that's dependant on what descriptive answers I get regarding OCZ as a PSU =)

Ok, so I'm probably gonna buy the OCZ 500w ModXstream, however, I was just wondering what the StealthXStream 500w is like? better/worse/the same as the Mod?

stealth is pretty much the same as the mod, except it aint modular, and it only has one 6pin pcie power cable (mod has a 6pin and a 6+2pin).

Im running a 500w modxstream here. Not a single hiccup in the last year ive been running it, even after i accidentally shorted two bare power cables (was messing around with some PICAXE chips and needed a supply with contant voltage) and frazzled a graphics card (seperate occasion).

Not sure how well it runs over spec though (ie, over 500w). Im hoping to add a second 5770 to my pc somewhere down the line, but estimated consumption under full load brings it a bit too close to the limit for my liking
