GTX560 is worse than a GTX560Ti
Same CPU - fine
Better HDD - fine, but doesn't affect performance
Mobo - the same
PSU - not modular, and doesn't allow for the £20 off
Case - cheap, not as nice
RAM - the same

Admittedly that BeQuiet PSU isn't great but modular cabling doesn't make one PSU better than the next, a good OEM and proven brand track record does though IMO :p

That's why I would stick to XFX, higher end Corsairs and some Antec models which all make use of Seasonic OEMs. I'm sure there's others too.

I agree to an extent. Two identical PSUs, with one modular would make it better? But obviously brand/quality is first.

That CoolerMaster one is good too:

Whereas I know nothing about "BeQuiet"

That bequiet L7 PSU did use to be a "budget gaming rig" favourite, even our great stulid used to spec it frequently back in the day.

Stoner wasnt suggesting using it with a CPU that required a lot of wattage or even one that could even be overclocked (higher the OC the more power your drawing). You'd often see the L7 paired with phenom 955 or an i3 and a 460, the 560ti doesnt want much more when underload. Suffice to say it would have worked but there are better alternatives now.

I do think Stoner "gimped" the overall spec just to accomodate a bigger HDD though. Now is a bad time to be buying HDDs hence fowlers suggestion to try and reclaim one. All in all I think the OP did a good job with the spec other than missing the promotion.

I do have a 500gb hdd lying around but with the 70 quid I save I would spend it on an i5 2500k.

Obviously that would be the best choice for me. Can the psu do the job or do I have to invest some more :-p

the psu you've got in the 1st post maybe able to handle it but for £10 more you can get the 600w version of the silent pro psu.

if you go for the i2500k then you'll want to get a better motherboard to be able to overclock the CPU, the gigabyte z68ap-d3(£85) is the popular cheap motherboard.

do you have a sata dvdrw as you've not listed 1?

Personally, put as much as you can afford in now.
