Long time since I posted here but I knew it was the one place I could come for advice, I haven't built a pc in quite some years and I've lost track of everything so I'm pretty lost looking at all these components :p

Looking for a rig for one of our boys for Christmas that will easily play Black ops 4 and fornite, Upgradable for the future if possible, would be great if you guys could help me.

Also, I was advised not too long ago I may as well buy one pre built these days in terms of price, how true is this?

To play black ops 4 you will need at least a 1060 build which if you build yourself would be around 6-£700
pre built, i cant see you getting much change outa £1000

Check out my post in this thread https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/new-budget-computer.18832880/

It will do what you want for £500. I'm assuming he's got a monitor/keyboard and mouse already.

Thanks guys, Keyboard/monitor/mouse not a issue as ill acquire them from friends.

What about pre built? worth it nowadays or still allot cheaper to build?

If i need to up the budget that's no issue, trying to keep it as close as possible to that £500 though.

It's still cheaper to build yourself mate.

This system will play everything at 1080p mostly maximum settings. If you wanted to improve on it you could go for an RX 580 or change the CPU to a 1400 to get the 8 threads.

Here's a video with the same Ryzen 3 but I think he overclocked it and with the 580

Not too shabby at all.

This should just about do what you need, ideally want to throw a HDD in at some point for extra storage and if you can stretch the budget going for a ryzen 5 would be worth the few extra pounds.

edit - Looking through the previous posts this is a fairly similar build to the one linked above :P

Not as powerful graphically as mentioned above, but can slap in a GPU in black Friday sales when it comes around etc
Star and lokken pretty much have it spot on . PSU is the weak link but goes in hand with budget . Formula is the lowest end of Tier 2 units we quote on here

This one!

Thanks guys, that one looks pretty decent ^

Im so behind on the Ryzen thing though lol, integrated graphics , is that actually any good?

Edit: Is there any prebuilt systems here for 500 in which I can just throw a decent graphics card in at a later date?
