I am totally new to VR i have a budget of £500 i was looking to get a rift s but its sold out everywhere, is this due to covid? Any idea when places wills start selling it again? the only option seems to be ebay where they seem to be going for around £500,how would the warranty work buying a new sealed one from ebay from a private seller? Do you need a receipt or does it work from the serial number? Any other alternatives for £500, will be using it to play racing sims and ETS2.

Just sign up for a notification on stock informer bud, I was trying to get my friend a quest the other month and it was really handy, make sure you're on the UK one mind....they're up for pre-order for the end of June on one of the reputable suppliers!
Just signed up to stock informer, tempted to pre order from another site claiming due date of 17th of june but a little unsure how legit that is and wheter it will be delayed by a crazy amount of time. Think i will try and be patient a little while and see if stock informer comes up with anything first.
Just make sure you've got your notifications switched on for your emails fella, a lot of places on there only get a handful of headsets so go like hotcakes. The site with the pre orders is absolutely sound, I've used them loads. The pre order date is just an estimate though on their side
Between Oculus Rift S and Oculus Quest - the Quest and RiftS come out fairly comparible for seated experiances, but the RiftS is more comfortable for longer play sessions.
If you have even any intention of playing full body VR games then the Quest is an amazing device because you can stream wirelessly from your PC to your headset, not only giving you access to the entire Quest library but any SteamVR and Oculus PC game.
I've almost completed Half Life Alyx on my Quest, playing in my livingroom with my PC in my smaller study. It really is incredible how far we've come since the original Oculus developer kit

YEEEES! Just managed to bag one from very, heard the buzzer going off on stock checker and managed to get one right away, by the time i checked out got my confirmation email and reloaded the page it was out of stock again i imagine no longer than 3 mins max as i already had my very account and bank details on autofill. This is the second time i tried to get from from very, the first time i payed with paypal and got a processing error on the very site, my guess is it went out of stock as i was paying, this resulted in a pending paypal charge of £400 that's still pending in my bank account and the funds are frozen while pending despite the order not going through or showing on my very account!, iv'e been told i need to wait at least a week for it to automatically cancel. This time i paid with card and the order went through, got the confirmation email and its showing as ordered with a delivery date of on or before the 16th. fingers crossed they fulfill the order now and it actually turns up lol.

Holy crap, At 7:40 i got a dispatched email, at 9:00pm i checked the tracking number and its at my bloody my local depot already, WTF that was quick it said it was coming direct from supplier, I must live near the warehouse. I ordered it yesterday at 4pm. Looks like it will be out for delivery tomorrow. I'm 34 years old and can't remember the last time i was this excited

That's poor service right there, I won't be using them in the future, Feel bad for getting mine relatively quick now. On a positive note i can definitely say it will be worth the wait. Mind ended up being delivered on Monday I'm still mind blown 3 days later. I thought i had an idea of what i was expecting but its blown my expectations out the water, its incredible.
