hi guys my friend wants me to build him a £500 gaming tower.
he doesnt need a monitor or a cd/dvd drive.
i priced one up came up to about £800 but that was all the latest parts.
i would think he would need at least a 4670k,r9 270 and a 750w psu and the rest could go with budget stuff.
any help

Does he need an OS?

Is the DVD drive SATA type? what resolution is the monitor? hat games does he play?

hi stulid i asked if he wanted a monitor and he told me he is gona hook it up to his tv so not sure his res on the tv.i would think its 1920x1080.

The 7970 is the same as a R9 280X, good for 1080P:)

SSD instead of a 1TB HDD as it makes everything quicker, hopefully 250Gb will be enough for the operating system and a few games, then add a large HDD later.

Or a Z97 board with a overclockable Pentium now, then later swap it out for a i5/i7 Haswell/Devils canyon,

Can you check his DVD drive is SATA interface and not older IDE (fat ribbon cables).

was just putting a basket together with a Raspberry pi and a 290X for giggles.
Luckily the basket wouldn't work and I also thought... I would feel pretty bad if someone bought it not realising what day it is.

hi stulid thanx for the quick response yeh it is a sata.
i would think the last build would be the best if he wants to play the latest games and upcoming ones.
