£500 Editing/Gaming Build

Why add the heatsink? You can't overclock the i3 and why do you always spec DVD-ROM drives? For the sake of an extra pound or two I'm sure most people will want the ability to burn disks.

Slightly over with the 7870 GPU, dropping to the 7850 would bring it on budget. Of course there is always a little wiggle room to adjust the spec, I look forward to seeing what the guy settles on.

I picked the Gigabyte board as its proven with a lot of reviews,

Kitguru even gave it the budget board for 2012 award - http://www.kitguru.net/channel/generaltech/zardon/kitguru-annual-awards-2012/5/

Is there a reason you'd rather go AMD? Because at this price point Intel is the better option.

Also, spec above has no case ^^
Stulid, your spec also has 2 sets of RAM :p

lol, I assumed DVD-Rom drives were not sold any more as they are outdated as simple DVD units. Also, didn't pay that much attention.
