Hey all, currently own an fx8350, nvidia 760 and an m5a78l-m mobo.

Looking to upgrade the graphics card and mobo.

Also need a case with decent airflow.

Budget can go higher if needed!

Thanks a lot for the help (blue colour scheme would be amazing)

There you go. Sort of White/Blue/Yellow :)

YOUR BASKET
1 x Sapphire Radeon R9 290 Tri-X 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (11227-03-40G) £349.99
1 x Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 AMD 990X (Socket AM3+) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £99.95
1 x NZXT Phantom 410 Enthusiast Midi Tower Case - White £79.99

Or swap the Sapphire for this card if you don't like yellow and don't mind paying more for a bit higher clock and black only:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 OC WindForce 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (GV-R929OC-4GD) £359.99
Total : £369.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Ah right. Forgot about this one case :)
I didn't add MSI because I read forums some people have problems with their 'military grade' fans bleeding oil.

Almost certainly - yes. Which model? How old is it?

Hmm...extra £100. What are you currently using to cool your CPU? Are you looking to overclock it?

Yeah, that'll be fine.

If you're not overclocking do you need a new motherboard? I assumed that was the reason.

Cpu is throttling most likely due to the motherboard. Something to do with power management or something... Pretty much everyone I've spoken to has told me to upgrade so may as well upgrade everything

New motherboard it is, then. An aftermarket heatsink would be nice, too. The h80i Bart linked, or an air cooler for a bit less. What kind of RAM are you using?

h80 isn't that hard to setup at all.
Remember to use good thermal paste and do it properly (small dot in middle of cpu), and don't screw the heatsink to hard (just enough that it sits on the cpu without moving).

GPU is personal preference.
You can get one of 290s we linked you or you can get a GTX 780.
I have the eEVGA gtx 780 sc acx, which is on offer this week at 407£ (but there is a game included which you can easily sell for 12-13£, so count it 395£ for gpu).

This one:

YOUR BASKET
1 x EVGA GeForce GTX 780 SC ACX Superclock 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (03G-P4-2784-KR) £407.99
Total : £417.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Ok I went for the msi radeon 290x 4gb, the phantek cpu cooler, the asus 990X mobo. Will all that work well with each other? (Also the case you linked) all paired with a 8350 and 8gb of ram
