To claim your 500 Microsoft Points, all you have to do is register on this web site using your Windows Live ID associated to your gamertag. You can register until midnight (Pacific Time) on November 29, 2007, and after you do so, you will receive an e-mail with a 25-digit code that lets you to activate your Microsoft Points through your Xbox 360 console. Don't expect that email to arrive instantly as the deadline for that email is December 21, 2007.

Don't know the exact cut off point but I'm pretty sure it's around 2002.

EDIT

Just realised how daft that statement is, of course it's around 2002 if it's 5 years old, duh! Does anyone know when it launched in the UK and the exact cut off point?

Were you actually told it was successful, or that the application had been received? They will let you complete the application process, and then decide if you qualify.

Live was not available until March 14, 2003 in the UK, but seeing as you get the choice to select UK I think they'll probably honour it anyway.

True, but a load of people had the chance to sign up for the Beta test, which run from November 02 till it offically went live in March 03.

Strange they don't even ask for your gamertag, considering the tie in with Windows Live is a new thing to 360, site did give me some warning about the certificate or something.
