£500 gaming laptop

Hi,

My friend has decided he wants a new laptop that can handle some gaming as his donkey old pc wont play total war medievil 2 (hes not hardcore so it wont be anything too stressful, mainly strategy games).

I've had a quick look and for that money they all seem to be similar spec, anyone got any ideas?

I am movign towards telling him to buy an ACER AS6930G brand new for £549 or refurbed for around 490 albeit from a well known high street retailers known for poor quality and service.. although i can't knock acer
