£500 Gaming Machine?

Hm, so the HD3 if I want to overclocker? How capable is the DS3H?

And are those SATA3 woes unfounded?

The Z77-D3H is what you ideally want, but if you want to save £10, the HD3 will overclock a "K" CPU.

And are those SATA3 woes unfounded?

Z77 boards have two native SATAIII ports proivided by the chipset, these are fine to use.

Does that count for the GD55/65 also?

They are fine I believe, its just the G43 thats gimped.

Having said that, this isn’t likely to be a concern, as MSI has crippled the EFI of the G43 to such levels that you’re unlikely to be able to coax a major overclock out of the board. The measly 0.06V that you’re able to add to the Vcore is very low, and meant that we could only overclock our test CPU to 4.4GHz, rather than the 4.8GHz we’ve been able to hit with every other Z77 board.
