Hey guys, I recently got enough money to buy my new rig now and as I've got Monday and Tuesday free, I'd like to get the parts by then and get it built!

-

It's my first ever build, but I'm extremely confident that I can build it myself and overclock it, therefore I feel that I will be purchasing an E21XX series chip. My budget is £500, but I may be able to stretch it to £600.

I was thinking along the lines of:

E2180
P5K
2gb DDR2 PC26400C4 RAM, maybe OCZ or GeIL?
Stealthxstream 600w PSU
8800GT (although they're out of stock atm)

So yeah, I'd appreciate your help! I've not listed everything, but I've got a build in mind, I just need help finalising everything and sticking to a budget.

Thanks!

Sorry, should have been more clear ;D

I need everything apart from a monitor/keyboard/mouse.

EDIT:

Any word of when the new GTS will be out?

Not sure on the new GTS.

Will put a spec up soon, OcUK not loading for me atm :p.

OcUK still aint loading, but whats the pricing of;

Q6600 OEM
Cooler of your Choice
2GB GEIL
8800GT
DS3R
Corsair 520W
PC7+

At a guess, this should be ~£550, so possibly another 2GB of RAM.

Or you could get the E2180 - 4500, and a 8800GTS/X.

How about this?

GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (ST3250410AS)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.66GHz (1333FSB) - Retail
Lian-Li PC-7 PLUS II Aluminium Midi-Tower Case - Black
Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard
EVGA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (512-P2-E801-AR)
Corsair HX 520W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CMPSU-520HXUK)

Total £597inc.

I've noticed the 8800GT's are out of stock for quite a while, and I've been told it'd be worth waiting for the new GTS, but here's the thing, I'll only be running a res of 1024x768, so would it really be worth all that power for such a small resolution?

What if I were to buy an ATI 3850? It's cheaper and if it performs fine in games such as TF2, COD 2/4, CSS, etc then I'll be more than happy with that.

[edit] Haha, why did I write 3?

Not sure how far you could clock with the PSU but;

GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (ST3250410AS)
EVGA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (512-P2-E801-AR)
Samsung SM-920NW 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Silver/Black
Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E2180 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.00GHz (800FSB) - Retail
Antec Sonata III Piano Black Quiet Case - EarthWatts 500W PSU

Thats £610 inc.

To get under the amount, you can drop the motherboard slightly.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. I was just specing this rig up. What do you think?

Total : £584.97

+ some Arctic Silver 5 and maybe a cable tidy kit ;D

I don't think I'll bother with a new monitor for now.

EDIT: Oh, and I'm buying that keyboard and mouse since it's wired. I've got wireless atm and I don't like it too much, so since it's only £15 I'll grab that.

I chose the coolermaster 'cause it can accommodate like 7 fans. Any objections, please feel free to bring them up!

If you were going to get the E2180, id get the Corsair HX520W.

The spec above (two above) with the E6750 would be a good option too.

Its a high stock speed too.

Although, your spec is good for a whole PC.

How does this look?

Corsair HX 520W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CMPSU-520HXUK)
Coolermaster RC-690 Dominator - Black (No PSU)
Samsung SH-S203BEBN 20x20 DVD±RW Dual Layer Serial ATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (ST3250410AS)
Intel Core 2 Duo E2180 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.00GHz (800FSB) - Retail
Microsoft Black Value Pack 2.0 - OEM (S82-00029)
Tuniq Tower 120-LFB CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)
Gainward GeForce 8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail
Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard

Total: £600.25

I might just get the PNY 8800GT 'cause it looks nicer XD

The reason people go for BFG and EVGA is their warranty. But that spec looks good.

Personally i dont like that case though :p.

Hmm, well a friend recommended it to me. He said he seen it up close and it was nice ;P

I just want a case with good airflow tbh so that my PC doesn't overheat.

The BFG and EVGA cards currently have no date on them for when they'll be in :(

:(

The PC7+ pictures do the case itself no justice.

Its a lovely case.

Its upto you on the 8800GT, the EVGA etc are good for warranty.
