Hey everybody,

I'm looking for a laptop to take to uni with me. I'd like something that is thin/light but isn't atom powered.

I'm currently considering the ASUS UL30A but I'm a little concerned that the SU7300 will be a little underpowered

Any suggestions?

Dell Studio 15 is well worth a look. You can customize it and I think you could get it for £500..got a good onboard GPU which apparently runs crysis at medium.

I've got one and am very very please with it.

Take a look at the studio 15 thread..

They tend to have offers running too I got the below for £529 delivered last week saved £200+

2.10 Core dual
4gb RAM
320GB Hard drive
4570 512mb
Backlit keyboard
1920x1080 Screen
W7 Home

That looks pretty promising, although I'm currently a little wary of dell because I currently have a bricked M1330 sitting on my desk.

Do you guys reckon the extra £80 for the i5 is worth it?

Be interesting in what people think on this too.

But i3 is now the base CPU for the studio 15 for £500 - I think thats a really good deal as it looks like an improvement on the mid range Core2duo CPUs on that laptop that was available only last week but cost more.
