Hi, I am looking for a laptop for under £500 with the only important criteria being its ability to run Sims 3. Aside from Sims 3 the laptop will be used for movies/internet browsing/office work, all of which should be no problem. A coloured case is by no means important if it effects the price/specs, but would be nice.
I have been doing a little bit of searching and have so far come up with the following:
As you can see, I'd rather a laptop that sits in between the two, and I am struggling to find one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have been doing a little bit of searching and have so far come up with the following:
The graphics card should handle Sims 3 easily, however 3GB of ram is my main issue with the laptop, and whilst probably sufficient, the hard drive seems abit small.Processor Intel® Core™ i3-380M Dual Core (380M, 3MB Cache, 2.53 GHz)
Screen 15.6" (Dell TrueLife, LED Screen, 1366x768 HD Resolution)
Operating System Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64-bit
RAM 3GB (DDR3 1066MHZ)
Hard Drive 320GB
Optical Drive DVD Rewriter (Records DVDs 8x & CDs 24x & Dual Layer Super Multi)
Graphics Dedicated (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 with 1GB Dedicated RAM)
Wireless LAN Wireless (802.11b/g/n Wireless)
Network Card 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet
Integrated Webcam Integrated Webcam with Microphone
Card Reader 5-in-1 card reader (SD/MS/MS-Pro/MMC/SDHC/)
USB Ports 3x USB 2.0 ports
Bluetooth Version 2.0
Speakers Integrated Sound System
VGA Port 1 External VGA Port
Kensington Lock Kensington lock slot
Charge Time 2.5 Hours
HDMI 1x HDMI Port
E-sata 1x eSATA Port
Warranty 12 Months Dell Collect & Return
Battery Life 2-3 Hours (up to 3 hours with power management)
Weight 2-3 Kg (This Model 2.72kg)
This is another laptop I've been looking at. Whilst the graphics card is subpar to the previous, the memory and hard drive are a lot better. I also realise the processor is worse, but I can't see it being too much of a problem.Screen size - 15.6 in
Processor - Intel Core i3 2310M - 2.1 GHz
RAM - 4 GB
Hard Drive - 750 GB
Operating System - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
Optical Drive - DVD Rewriter
Graphics - AMD Radeon HD 6490M
As you can see, I'd rather a laptop that sits in between the two, and I am struggling to find one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
