Hey guys, i'm looking to get a sub-£500 laptop for business use, it'll mostly be microsoft office work (i've got the licence already for this). It'll be used for occasional AutoCAD type work too, nothing too hardcore though, i think a low-end core 2 duo should be more than sufficient? Think the Turions would be comparable performance wise at all?

Anyway, i've been looking at several options:

Toshiba satellite pro A120-155 - C2D T5500 with 512 mb ram, 60 gb hdd, integrated graphics, CD±RW and Vista Business, which i've seen for ~£460

Acer Acer AS5103 - Turion64 X2 1GB 120GB DVD±RW, integrated graphics and Vista Home Premium also for £450

Then... i've been looking at the Dell Inspiron 6400 - C2D T5300 with 1gb ram, 120 gb hdd, DVD±RW dedicated Radeon X1400 w/ 256mb ram, good battery and vista business for £480

The dell seems like the best deal to me, am I right in thinking the build quality is best in this order, Toshiba, Dell, then Acer as the cheap brand? I've seen both the toshibas and the acer in the flesh, and I have to say the tosh seemed to have a build quality that seems higher than the price, wheras the acer seemed like you got what you paid for.

Anyway, i'm mostly looking for advice, and any suggestions as to better models and deals! Cheers guys

IMHO I'd go for the dell, as 512mb ram in the toshiba won't cut it.. the dell has the best deal and also you'll have good customer sevice. The acer is also a good deal, however, in laptops i prefer C2D than amd turions
