£500 base unit spec
I've been trying to build a decent spec AM3 system for a while, and got
for a total of 540 (Over budget). Now I've seen another pc elsewhere, spec :-
I can get OS no issue, and I work form home of this 24/7 using dual screens (1680 x 1050) and also play the odd game on it (BF/Trackmania)... Also I require at least 2 pci slots and 1 addition pcie slots of x4 or above for some additional cards I have to plugin at various times to attach fibre/scsi devices.
Comments welcome (And I know I'm comparing quad against tri)

but I'm not sure on it now as postage is another £30 which is moving out of my budget. Quad for most people IMO is overkill, and while I do some home movies with the kids my amd 3700Mhz does ok, so tri/quad should have more than enough ooomph
