im after a system for the living room so i dont want one thats obvious when its on, a slight bit of noise is to be expected but i dont want anything too loud.

im on a budget of about £500 and would like it relativly future proof i.e 2gb ram and 8800GT, im not up to date with processors so thats where i need help.

i already have an OS (XP for now) wireless KB and mouse and its connecting to my TV so a monitor is not needed.

cheers

There you go. You've got the 2Gb RAM and 8800Gt you asked for, along with a more living room friendly case.

You've also got an excellent CPU for overclocking, along with a very good mATX overclocking motherboard. The Scythe mini Ninja should keep the CPU cool enough, and the Accelero will silence the graphics card.

The case fans may be loud at 12V but they come with 3 speed settings, so just knock them down to the lowest one. I suspect that the loudest part of that system will then be the HDD or perhaps the 80mm fan on the Ninja.

I'm almost certain the PSU will be fine. My brother runs a similar system with a heavily overclocked E2140 on an Antec 380W PSU. The Earthwatts version must be at least as powerful.:)
