Hi guys,
Could you spec me a budget gaming rig for around £500?

I will only really be playing wow wotlk on it but id like it to run this flat out and Id also like this as quiet and as cool as possible.

I quite like the antec 1200 case, would it be possible to put that case in a build like this?

I am not too bothered about ocing anything as id imagine this will increase heat and noise levels.

Cheers

FACEPALM.

Didn't read his request much, did you? :p

1) Antec 1200 case
2) Cool 'n Quiet.
3) Only really wants to play WoW - a 4 year old game - on it.

Here's a spec up for you.

HOWEVER, if we just want a kickass looking PC that runs cool and quiet, I'd go with THIS.

GOD I love the look of that case! Anyway, there are other combinations of that rig. If you are running lots of programs, chop that processor down to a Core 2 Duo E7300 and get 4GB of DDR2 RAM.

Mmmmm, sexy, sexy case...

PS: Reasoning:

Large amounts of people on screen is a CPU thing rather than a GFX thing, so it makes sense to go for a seemingly overkill CPU. The PSU is very efficient and quiet.

For the record, I'm not 100% sure how noisy the Intel stock fan is. So you might want to change it for a cheap aftermarket fan.

ok ive had a look about and was thinking of this spec. I think it would be a good idea for me to go down the ocing route with the e5200, im just a bit unsure about the mb here. theres a lot of similar models at similar prices...bit confused  any recommendations here?

If you want to overclock the 5200, which I'd suggest you do (a crime not to ;)) you need an aftermarket cooler. The freezer 7 pro is a good one for the price, should get a fair bit from your cpu.

The 640gb hard drive is only £10 more than the 250gb one, bargain.

I'd just go with the cheapest 4850, plus the asus has a 3 year warranty.

The asus P45 boards are good, recommended on most builds.
