Got £500 to upgrade my 3 year old rig.
Items needed:
- GPU
must be fanless and capable of HDTV and have DVI inputs
- CPU
Cheap Core2Duo. Must run cool
- CPU Heatsink
must be good and quiet. Ideally one which has a fan running under 1000rpm
- DDR2
must be 1gb
- PSU
not too expensive. Quiet operation please
- Motherboard
must have plenty of SATA ports. Atleast 1xIDE. Descent allround m/b
Will be reusing:
Akasa Eclipse 62 Case
M-Audio 5.1 Revo Soundcard
120gb SATA Maxtor HDD
300Gb SATA Maxtor HDD
Samsung SATA DVDRW
Case Fans
19" LG TFT
PC Will be used for surfing, MS Office, listening to music, watching the odd film, itunes, ripping CD/DVD......Nothing intensive at all. Want it to be quiet as possible.
Budget is £500 MAX! But if you can do it cheaper its better.
