Hi,

This is what I have (below):

I want to spend ~£500 (+ a new case).

My intention is to slowly upgrade over the next 12 months, so the £500 serves as a base;

My thoughts are to get a new Mobo, a 2.4 conroe, and a PCI-E GPU such as the 7600 gt.
Then to add in new RAM, HDD, cooling, PSU etc

Its my gaming rig and I intend to overclock it.

Cpu: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80GHz (Northwood)
Cpu Speed: 3.36GHZ (FSB-240)
fsb:dram 5:4 (ddr 400)
corsair pc3200 1gb (512 dual channel)
Mobo: MSI 875Pneo (MS-6758)
Cooling: Artic freezer 4
GFX: Nvidia 7600GT (agp)
Sound: Sound Blaster Audigy
HD: seagate baracuda (7200RPM)
PSU: Enermax noisetaker 485W

Any thoughts on whether this is a good idea, as I think adding more RAM to the above is the only option left and is leading me into a dead end.

Also need some pointers as to what the best combination/componets would be?

Cheers

I did similar a month or so ago.

For £500 I got

e6400
AsRock Conroe945
X1900 GT
2gb PC 5300
550watt PSU
Silverstone Case

All works a treat and plays everything I've got on max settings. Runs like a dream in windows too.
