A friendly parp is hereby issued to diogenese, please ensure that cell number 17 does not smell and that the bar is stocked as Bigstan will be moving in in the next 5 days or so :D

Parps/stomps are so few and far between round these parts that one must savour each sweet moment when they do come along.

I was moments away from getting the 4th spot some time ago and all I've done since is get stomped! My fault really, getting rid of 4 crunchers and not upgrading the ones I have has put me at a bit of a disadvantage :o

I'll tidy up for you Bigstan. What's your favourite tipple, i'll stack the fridge :D
 
it's gonna be an expensive trip to the off-licence for you dio - single malt is the tipple of the lesser spotted stan :eek:

Infact it may prove cheaper to spend the money on machines and try to out-run him :D

I have to sympathise with you - even with all my XP rigs running the only way is down :o
These young whipper-snapper dual-cores and bargain Xeon machines sure put out a lot of double-WUs

Still it's for the good of the team and I'm all for that - I'll just have to get working on my CV and try for that job at the local IT college ;)

If he want's single malt in a fridge then he'll have to buy it himself:eek: that's a horrible thing to do to a good whiskey!

sorry I was assuming the fridge wouldn't actually be plugged in as he'll need all the power sockets he can get his hands on for his cruncher army :p

Single malt most certainly does not go in the fridge :eek:

A nice bottle of Laphroaig will suffice (I got myself a limited edition bottle of 17 year old "The Balvenie" today - a bargain at £60.00 :D ).

I wondered what had happened to your output. I obviously want to catch as many people as possible but it's not good for the team when individual member's aren't doing so well. I'm currently 2nd best output in the team at a little over 1000 a day :(

I've been thinking about a new rig, possibly an A64 3700 or an opty 146, I just can't seem to make up my mind! The thought of having to get another graphics card is putting me off at the moment.

Give me a clue to a decent 939 motherboard with an AGP slot :o I don't do games!
 
There's always the Asus A8N-VM CSM Micro ATX sold by OcUK which has on-board graphics and very reasonably priced.
If you're not playing games the on-board graphics should be good enough :)

Get that and bung an Opty in it and you'll be laughing.

You had it easy, I've been in an o** state, due to opty upgrading and trying to get a raid 0 setup from one motherboard to another. (it didn't work:()
still I'm up and running now, for one day only on stock settings. then I shall push it a bit tonight:)

The smell is probably shoe related :o
