Hey been out of the loop for a year now not sure what's been going on in the world of PCs! Looking for a gaming PC got a monitor/mouse/keyboard and windows disk. just need a computer! Ive got around £500 to spend
Many Thanks

The best thing to do to start with is give more specifics:

What native resolution does your monitor run in - what resolution to do want to play in?

What games do you want to play?
Do the games have to have all graphics at max?

Etc

£500 is quite a tight budget for a gaming spec PC, this is what i can come up with which is a bit over your budget.

Id do this and say it wasnt a tight budget atall, id say that sa pretty respectable gaming tower indeed!

You would need to overclock the CPU but its a given that it will do 2.7 and 3.0Ghz is obtainable id wager, gigabyte are respectable overclockers and pretty easy to do aswell

Its a good spec but you missed out a cpu cooler for the overclocking and a dvd drive.

Why not have a look in this thread: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17883751

Good luck mate,

It hasn't been updated in 3 weeks, there are a few offers on this week and a few price changes. But it will give the OP an idea of what's available to him at this budget, which should be a decent gaming spec.

The £500 tower spec on that thread is similar to mine, you could change the PSU to the corsair 450W, save a bit of cash, it'll be more than enough to power the system.

Oh sorry I missed that. Thought he kept on updating that stuff.

Corsair psu is definitely THE psu to have. 450w will do fine as well. I have a 650w, but just to be safe a few years ahead.

Yeah, shaffaaf27's thread is the place to go, but it's a lot of work to keep it all up to date, prices and offers keep changing at a pretty quick rate.

On a budget the corsair 450W is a good buy, they get a great name on here. I know what you mean by having a bit extra, I'm stuck with a 500W PSU the now, looking to upgrade the PC in a few months to something a bit more power hungry, so gonna have to get a beefier PSU.
