As a 4090 owner I want to cry but cheer.

Wow, the 5070 has 24GB of VRAM now!?

Oh... Wait. It doesn't.

Used market will be just fine, until a significantly cheaper card comes along that has a decent whack of VRAM.
It has 12 and false. The 2080ti and 3090 are proof, in fact I'll be listing my 4090 up shortly. I don't expect anywhere near retail price given this announcement lmao

People will be rubbing their hands with glee at your cheap 4090. 3090 used prices have definitely remained stronger than they would be, if it had less VRAM.

Fools knee-jerk sell their cards for cheap, then prices go higher as there's no stock on the new cards, or they get scalped to oblivion.

The AI TOPS number is pretty useless, if it's not backed up by enough memory to make it worth anyone's while.

Fake frames mate, not raw performance. basically cheating
Has there been any confirmation of this?

When you think about it because 5000 series has taken so long Nvidia have essentially skipped a release so this claim is more like 4070 vs 2080ti, so it is believable, but I'll wait to see benchmarks first.

Yes, Jensen said as much. Moreover, they haven't broken the inviolable laws of rasterisation and semi-conductor design.

5070 likely performs a hair close to 4080 Super, but with their new DLSS algos it can be made to appear to perform like a 4090 (it doesn't).

So realistically the 5070 will be £650 - £750 depending on the model, There is no way you will ever see that card at £499 if it is truly capable of 4090 performance.

I really wanted a 5070ti, but looking at what it could cost I might not be able to afford, I'm guessing that will start at the £850 - £1000 range.

I was pretty set on getting a 5080, but having seen the pricing I may hold off just to see how the cards compare now. Also the cooler designs by third parties may be pretty good this gen.

First couple games on the slide didn't have the dlss 4 and 5070 performance jump over the 4070 looked to be about 20-25% and that's likely still cherry picked. So my guess is real performance only a little higher than the 4070 super and well behind the 4070ti

Maybe time for me to upgrade my 3070. But the more recent 3070 pricing in MM is depressing and likely to get worse if others do the same.
