5070 = 4090 for 499.

Gotta love Nvidia’s marketing. They do know how to build hype. Only a totally incompetent buffoon incapable of critical thought would expect the 5070 to match a 4090.

It might be more like the 4080, but at that price it is a winner if a GPU.

So realistically the 5070 will be £650 - £750 depending on the model, There is no way you will ever see that card at £499 if it is truly capable of 4090 performance.

I really wanted a 5070ti, but looking at what it could cost I might not be able to afford, I'm guessing that will start at the £850 - £1000 range.

Gonna start playing with frame gen on the lossless scaling and be ineresting to see if that gets better.
my personal experience has not been good, i generally use the ultra low latency option in nvidia control panel for highly responsive gameplay, its a godsend that works on every game, but then you cant use FG with this, because then its purpose is lost

I am a sucker for hype, I won't lie, hype gets me, it shouldn't, and the hype is making me want to upgrade, lol.

I should wait for reviews, but I'm kinda thinking I need to flog the 4080 ASAP to avoid loss of value.

The game I currently play mostly is minecraft with path tracing shaders, even a 5090 will run this bad, but I jump between games, FS2024, indiana jones, silent hill etc.., playing at 1080p, 1620p, occasionaly 4k.

I exclusively play via streaming, my desktop doesn't have a monitor.

I really dont like all this dlss / fsr / frame gen stuff

just inject fps into my eyeballs

all of the click bait this has generated and it feels like obfuscation / marketing rather than something factual

its not even clear if that ad means 5070 (with dlss etc) = 4090 raster or 4090 with dlss etc?
its all BS in this forum posters opinion

But, if you're playing your game and 4k 60fps, you go away, and come back and you're at 4k 120+, you notice it's smoother, no visual degredation and you're happy, and then someone tells you it's "fake frames", whst do you do? Turn it off? Why?

It's more fake frames added for 50 series

input lag
latency
artificing
ghosting
blurry
dithering
not all games support it natively

The thing is I would notice a degradation in mouse response instantly which is ...... annoying. Sure my eyeballs sees less blur(due to the sample and hold nature of displays) but it wouldn't "feel" right.
