looking at the raw specs, i doubt the 5070 will be much faster than the 4070 super, 5-10% at best.
i wait for reviews to prove me right or make me a laughing stock
My 4070 superWhich GPU will you eat when you're proved wrong?
Were you tempted to do this?My son came in yesterday and said "Dad you seen this 5070 its as fast as a 4090 for the fraction of a price...."
Then I looked into it.
Faster only using this new next gen frame generation thing and only then Devs have the put to code into their game wont be potentially faster unless this is done.
Read a few of the articles specs wise its not possible 5070 v 4090.
More Nvidia marketing spin to suck people in to part with their cash.
Speaking of the 5090 already websites out there telling you how to beat the scalpers makes me laugh.

Remember the good old days when 3070 = 2080 Ti was actually true.
The whole situation is fishy, Nvidia have given no solid indication of how these GPUs actually perform. Every benchmark with the exception of Far Cry 6 was done with 4x frame generation on. Far Cry 6 is also a game where Nvidia GPUs underperform, so it's possible that their improvement in that game is actually disproportionate to other games.
4070 user here too, play mostly racing sims, happy to wait this new gen out, ATM anyway.Well, it will be interesting to see once reviews come out.
Perhaps it won't be worth upgrading from a 4xxx series this gen anyway, unless you plan on using frame generation heavily.
To be honest, i'm on a 4070 currently and play at 1440p with no RT on usually, so really, i don't need a great deal more horsepower anyway. It copes pretty well with everything thrown at it so far.

well its not really targeted at current 4070 users but people like me who are on nearly 4 year old 6700xt cards even if its only 10% faster than a 4070 super it now hits a performance gain worth paying forYeh. The only thing i'd maybe consider is a 5070Ti if it was on offer/had a discount code on some place in the future. At least with that i'd get some extra vram and probably a reasonable increase in raster performance. A 5070 probably would not be worth it, and i wouldnt pay much more than £700 for a gpu anyway.
Have you seen the specs? The 5070 only has 200 more cuda cores than a 4070 and about 1000 less than a 4070 super it also has a lower boost clock, the extra bandwidth from GDDR7 should give it a bit more performance at higher resolutions but realistically I don’t think this card will be much faster than a 4070 super.Don't buy the marketing nonsense. They make this statement when considering DLSS4/frame gen.
However the real world is different; very few game actually implement these features properly, frame gen has a poor track record in recent games with sometimes giving games a "waxy" look as well as latency/input issues, some games outright crash or don't work at all with frame gen enabled.
In actual specifications it is ~40% above a 4070 which put its slightly above a 4070ti super and below a 4080, which is pretty sad. I think the 5070ti is the proper xx70 card and the 5070 exists only to try and upsell/price anchor mainstream consumers to the higher $749 price band.
We already know 12GB is not enough for 1440p games /w ray tracing, so these mainstream GPUs are improving less and less hardware wise and try to make up for it with the software features like DLSS to make it seem better than it actually is.
Tbf, those sort of people probably won't notice the cons of full dlss and frame gen, so for him it might as well be true right?Spoke to an average uninformed gamer at work. He was already quoting this as fact, he looked a bit disappointed when I pointed out it was all Nvidia marketing guff!
The 5070 Ti does look like it could be the sweet spot in the range. Very close specs to the 5080, while being a few hundred quid cheaper.Yeh.
