I've been using my 5070ti exclusively for cyberpunk until now and have been very happy with the performance using path tracing and multi frame gen.(even 2x same as the 4000 series can do) I've seen some minor artifacts like when litter is blowing about but overall it's felt really smooth and looked great

I've since tried a couple of rounds of call of duty with it and it's feels pretty crap I can feel the frame dips dropping to around 60 it's not a smooth experience at all. This is without any frame gen or image scaling switched on at 1440 ultrawide with a 9800X3D

Is this a common issue with these 5000 series cards? I've played it on a 4090 and 7900XT and both cards offered a significantly better experience.

CoD is a game that favours AMD strongly isn't it? That might account for some of the difference with the XT. 5000 series drivers being poo could be the rest.

Those frame rates seem correct for COD, it could be your 0.1% lows could be bringing things down. Play around with the settings and see if you can stabilise your frame times.

I just feel like I shouldn't have to turn settings down to get a decent frame rate at that resolution with this card. My 4080 laptop plays it more smoothly tbh.

Mmm my 1% lows on warzone sit about 150- 199 @1440 with the settings I use on the 9070xt/ryzen 7700

What settings are you using. I've played COD BO6 for 15.6 days apparently according to the Xbox App. My rig is similar

9800X3D (Neg offset of 22)
32Gb of 6000 CL30 ram @ 1:1
PNY XLR 4070Ti 12Gb @ + 100 Core / +300 Memory
Alienware Ultrawide 3440@1440 @ 165Hz

For Multiplayer you need to lower you settings, I personally think it looks better like this, less grainy.

Settings > Display
V-Sync off
Limit the FPS to your Screen, Should have 3 options. in my case all the max FPS are set to 165fps
Turn on Nivida Reflex, should already be on

Settings > Quality >
Graphics Present - Balanced
Dynamic Resolution - Off
Upscaling / Sharping - Off
DLSS / FSR - Both off
VRAM Scale Target - Leave default of 70%
Leave everything else stock.

Then Restart shaders, load up a game. Let me know how you get on.

Mine pretty much hits 165fps all of the time, with the exception of the first 10 seconds of the first game you play, depending on map. It runs silky smooth.

I've narrowed it down to nuketown map being stuttery I think as I've tried it with my 4090 and it wasn't majorly different. I've tried to get the 1% and 0.1% lows Via afterburner but it seems very buggy as the 0.1% stays at like 2fps constantly.

I'll have another mess about based on your settings though thank you.

To be honset, since the past couple of major updates it's not been as soon as it previously was. Do you notice a slight stutter on your first kill?
